Ray heads Medicare plans at BlueCross

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has promoted Todd Ray to senior vice president of its Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement programs.

Ray, who most recently served as the company’s vice president of senior products, will be responsibl­e for the overall performanc­e and management of all Medicare Advantage and Medicare supplement­al product lines.

Ray has worked in the health insurance industry for more than 20 years. He joined BlueCross in 2013 as director of product strategy, where he was responsibl­e for developmen­t and design of senior products. Under Ray’s leadership, enrollment in the company’s Medicare Advantage plans grew to more than 100,000 members in 2016. BlueCross remains the fastest growing Medicare Advantage carrier in Tennessee.

“Todd’s knowledge and leadership will be a vital asset to the senior leadership team and the continued growth and improvemen­t of our Medicare Advantage line,” said Scott Pierce, chief operating officer at BlueCross.

Ray earned a Master of Business Administra­tion with a concentrat­ion in Health Care Administra­tion and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administra­tion with a concentrat­ion in Finance and Management from the University of Louisville. He holds the Certified Health Insurance Executive designatio­n and a Six Sigma Black Belt Certificat­ion.
