‘Scared famous’: A reality show in a haunted house

- BY KEVIN MCDONOUGH UNITED FEATURE SYNDICATE

Reality stars in a haunted house! Where have we seen this before? Just in time for Halloween, “Scared Famous” (9 p.m., VH1, TV-14) invites semi-celebrities to endure challenges loosely based on recent horror movies and TV series.

The entire enterprise seems lifted from the plot to “American Horror Story: Roanoke.” The haunted cast includes Alaska (“Rupaul’s Drag Race”); Drita D’Avanzo (“Mob Wives”); Tiffany “New York” Pollard (“I Love NY”) and Yung Joc (“Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta”), among others.

Like vampires who have tasted blood, these contestants are now addicted to appearing on reality shows and will submit to any indignity to stay on camera.

Rapper Redman serves as host.
