Alabama couple charged with distribution of obscene material
Two people are facing felony charges related to bestiality, child porn, abuse and the distribution of obscene material in arrests made Monday near the town of Sylvania, Ala.
Sylvania police and DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office deputies served a search warrant at a home on Spear Street in an investigation that led to the arrest of 27-year-old Robert Michael Bishop, of Sylvania, and 26-year-old Ashley Nicole Hartline, of Rainsville, DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said Tuesday.
Bishop was charged with two counts of dissemination of obscene matter, possession of obscene matter and bestiality, while Hartline was charged with firstdegree sodomy, dissemination of obscene material and production of obscene material, Harris said in the release.
DeKalb County Jail records show Hartline was being held on a $300,000 bond, while Bishop was being held on a $235,000 bond.
Jail records show a different description of charges against the pair.
According to booking records available through the sheriff’s office website, Hartline is charged with first-degree sodomy, dissemination/display of child porn, production of porn with minors and sex abuse child less than 12. Online booking records show Bishop is charged with two counts of dissemination/display of child porn, possession of child porn and bestiality.
Sheriff’s department officials could not be reached for a clarification on the different wording of the charges.
