Mozelle Kubas

Mary Mozelle Robertson McGhinnis Kubas, 102, of Collegedale, went to her rest on Oct. 31, 2017.

Mozelle was born Nov. 15, 1914, in Lunenburg County, Va. She was the seventh child of George Coley Robertson and Mary William Hill.

Mozelle lived in Lunenburg, Chesterfield, Powhatan, and Henrico Counties in Virginia until moving to Collegedale in 1979.

She was a member of the Apison Seventh-day Adventist Church. She loved helping everyone and made friends wherever she went. Mozelle loved most, her family, flower gardens, her church and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William Abner, George Thomas, Newton Eugene, Robert Herman, and Odelle Archer Robertson; sisters, Thelma Virginia, Mabel Clara, and Eve Allen Barton; husband of 45 years, Willis T. McGhinnis Sr. and second husband, Joseph Kubas.

She is survived by daughter, Ann McGhinnis Taylor (David); son, Willis (Bill) T. McGhinnis Jr. (Kitty); grandson, David C. Taylor Jr. (Bobbi); great-grandson, Bradley Alexander Taylor; brother, Luther Harris Robertson and sister, Dorothy Mae Arvin (Charles).

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, at the Apison Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Brian Burgess officiating. Burial will follow in the Collegedale Memorial Park.
