HoHo Expo ushers in shopping season

- STAFF REPORT

The Chattanooga Convention Center may start to resemble Santa’s Workshop next weekend as the HoHo Expo sets up shop for a two-day gift blitz.

Billed as the Scenic City’s largest holiday shopping event, the HoHo Expo gathers hundreds of vendors under one roof to offer the latest in products and services. Merchants will be selling specialty holiday items, clothing, jewelry, cosmetics, home accessories, toys and various other merchandise, making it a quick and easy way to check off names on your gift list. And it’s no secret that some attendees have been known to fill their own wish lists at the shopping extravaganza.

Presented by the Chattanooga Times Free Press, the expo is scheduled 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 19. Families can get a free photo with Santa both days as well (11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 2-4:30 p.m. Saturday, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. and 2:30-4:30 p.m. Nov. 19).

A giant Kids Zone will keep the youngsters entertained while Mom and Dad check out what’s in store.

Major sponsors are orthodontist Dr. Keith Dressler, the Children’s Hospital Foundation, Xfinity, Realtor Mark Hite, The Home Depot and Toyota of Cleveland, which is coordinating a toy drive. The first 100 visitors to donate an unwrapped gift will receive a ticket voucher for one-time admission to the Creative Discovery Museum, and all donors will have a chance to win an annual family membership to the children’s museum.

Admission and parking are free.
