Cowboy Jubilee is a long-running show on WSMC public radio that airs Sundays at 6 p.m. Each week, McCallie tries to bring listeners the best in Western swing, cowboy songs and poetry, Western history and news of cowboy events around the country. Sunday’s audience will sit in on a taping to air at a future date on WSMC.
McCallie has been a member of the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame since its inception. In 2008, the Academy of Western Artists presented him the Will Rogers Award for Broadcasting’s DJ of the Year.
During his years in broadcasting, McCallie has traveled extensively performing his cowboy songs and interviewing some of the great artists in the Western music and entertainment business. He says he takes pride in presenting programs that are informative, entertaining, thought-provoking and historically correct.
A donation of $5 to the Hunter Worley Foundations gets you in the door. A reception will follow Sunday night’s music performance.
