Yeah, yeah, yeah: Beatles tribute show at Lee
Classical Mystery Tour is a tribute quartet that plays Beatles classics, backed by a symphony orchestra.
Back by popular demand, the Classical Mystery Tour will return to the stage with Lee University’s Symphony Orchestra to perform “A Tribute to the Beatles” in the next installment of Lee’s Presidential Concert Series. The performance will take place on Monday, Nov. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in Conn Center on the Cleveland, Tenn., campus.
Classical Mystery Tour is a tribute quartet that plays Beatles classics, backed by a symphony orchestra. This concert will honor the 50th anniversary of the release of the Beatles’ album “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.”
The Los Angeles Times has described the group’s performance as “more than just an incredible simulation … a high goose bump quotient.”
CMT features Jim Owen as John Lennon, Tony Kishman as Paul McCartney, David John as George Harrison and Chris Camilleri as Ringo Starr. The Lee Symphony Orchestra is returning for its fifth pops performance in a Presidential Concert, after collaborating with guest artists in tribute shows to Billy Joel and Elton John, ABBA and Simon and Garfunkel.
Conducted by Robert Bernhardt, the orchestra performs a wide variety of orchestral literature. Bernhardt joined Lee’s School of Music in spring 2011. He led the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera for 19 years, is principal pops conductor of the Chattanooga, Grand Rapids and Louisville symphonies.
