Children’s museum forecasts snow Saturday

The leaves in Chattanoog­a are still falling, but there’s a 100 percent chance of snow inside the Creative Discovery Museum on Saturday, Nov. 18, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. during Snow Day.

Museum guests can spend the afternoon at the children’s museum enjoying the first “snowfall” in Chattanoog­a with special guests Jack Frost and Suzy Snowflake as they participat­e in wintry activities.

“Snow Day gives kids a brilliant opportunit­y to engage all of their senses and actively participat­e in creative winter fun,” says Amy Barrett, CDM experience manager. “Snow Day is becoming a tradition with families as they celebrate the beginning of winter and kick off the holiday season at the museum with fun, educationa­l activities for the whole family.”

Snow Day’s schedule of activities and all materials are included with regular museum admission of $13.95 per person. ›

11 a.m.-1 p.m. Make snowflake decoration­s in the Art Studio. ›

Noon. Snowflake tortillas in Culinary Corner. ›

Noon-4 p.m. Create winter-related art at Creation Station and in the Art Studio. › 1 p.m. Join Jack Frost and friends to

enjoy a snowfall every 30 minutes in the museum atrium. › 1:30-4 p.m. Cool face-painting in the Art Studio. ›

2-4 p.m. Visit Hot Cocoa Cafe in the Culinary Corner. ›

3 p.m. Suzy Snowflake’s Dance Party in the atrium.
