Second Life Chattanooga, a nonprofit organization that focuses on ending human trafficking in greater Chattanooga and Southeast Tenn., has added Paige Evatt to its board of directors.

“Paige is passionate about raising awareness of human trafficking in our community, but more importantly, she is passionate about helping survivors,” said Jerry Redman, chief executive officer for Second Life Chattanooga.

Evatt is the pro bono project director for Legal Aid of East Tennessee’s Chattanooga office and has been affiliated with Second Life for nearly four years. Evatt previously served as a staff attorney working under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), a grant assisting victims of domestic violence and sexual assault with their civil legal needs.

“I have seen, first hand, the impact Second Life makes by providing client services, educating the community and by collaborating with other local agencies,” said Evatt. “During my time on the board, I want to increase community outreach and expand to more rural areas surrounding Chattanooga, and I want to see survivor services strengthened. That process is already well underway, and I am thrilled to be part of making our community a safer place for everyone and to provide hope and healing to survivors.”

Evatt is an active member of the Chattanooga Coalition against Human Trafficking, the Tennessee Bar Association, the Chattanooga Bar Association and the Bradley County Bar Association. She was a past president of the Chattanooga Chapter of the Alpha Delta Pi Alumnae Association and was awarded the Girls, Inc. Unbought and Unbossed Award in 2017.
