Vera Lorain Bryant Holland, 86, of East Ridge, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 4, 2017. Vera was a loving and devoted wife, mother and an excellent homemaker. She lived her life serving her family and her Lord. She was member of Spring Creek Road Baptist Church for 58 years. During that time she helped in several areas of the church including serving in WMU and VBS.

Proverbs 31 describes her best. Vera was a virtuous wife. She was worth far more than rubies. She earned the trust of her husband and her children and she always did good things for them. She was clothed with strength and honor. Her children and her husband called her blessed. “…A woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.”

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Joseph Eugene Holland; her parents, Earl Stanford and Cora Smith Bryant; sister, Earline Stewart; brothers, Jack Bryant, Lee Bryant and Stan Bryant.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Tracy Sosebee; sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Mary Holland and Joe and Lisa Holland; grandchild­ren, Kristin and Andrew Light, Nathan and Katy Holland, Danielle and David Young, Mallory Holland, Michelle Holland, Joshua Sosebee, Isabella Holland, Madison Conner; brother, Donald Bryant; sisters, Peggy Watkins, Linda Caviness and T’Lene Tillotson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home with the pastor James Julian officiatin­g.

Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefiel­d Pkwy.
