Mayzie Healy Schneitman, 93, of Chattanoog­a passed away Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017 at her home.

She was a member of Stuart Heights Baptist Church and was a former member of Memorial Baptist Church.

Mayzie loved singing at church, sewing, gardening and rooting for her UT Vols.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Healy and Charles Schneitman; and her son-in-law, David Stacy.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia (Tom) McElhaney of Orangeburg, S.C., Diane Stacy of Chattanoog­a; grandchild­ren, Stephanie (Kevin) Shott of Covington, Ga., Brian (Rachel) McElhaney of Covington, Ga. and Lauren (Rad) Davenport of Chattanoog­a; great-grandchild­ren, Kaitlyn and Jacob Shott and Megan and Logan McElhaney of Covington, Ga.; and several nieces; nephews; and great-nieces; and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home in Hixson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom McElhaney officiatin­g.

Interment will follow at noon on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 at Chattanoog­a National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial contributi­ons may be made to Grayson’s Ladder. Checks should be made payable to “Community Foundation of Greater Chattanoog­a” with “Grayson’s Ladder” in the memo line and mailed to P.O. Box 827, Ooltewah, TN 37363. The family would like to thank her loving caregivers, Jessica and Debbie of Hospice of Chattanoog­a, as well as Tammy, Sheri and Pam for their tender care.
