Robert ³Bob´ +ouston 6y lar 6r. also known as 7ooney or Bob or Dad , a lifelong Chattanoog­a resident, died on 1ov. 2 , 201 .

+e was born to the late Bert Lee and Eola May Jolley 6ylar. Bob battled kid ney disease for 2 years. Bob went to McCallie 6chool and received a Bach elor¶s degree from 8niversity of Chattanoog­a. Bob worked at Provident Life Insurance Company for 30 years, but was an antique dealer at heart.

Bob¶s life long hobby was learning about the an tiques he sold, refinishin­g furniture, and meeting people at )lea Markets in the 6outh East.

Bob served in the 8.6. Air )orce for years.

+umor was a trait that best described Bob 6ylar. Always one to tell a Moke, his dry wit was appreciate­d by anyone who met him. Bob would challenge you to name a sub Mect and he could tell a Moke about it.

Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia L. Pack 1 , of 6pring City, 7enn.

+e is survived by his wife, Mary Jane 6ylar, of 2oltewah, 7enn. daughter, 6herry 6ylar and her spouse, Roxanne Ad ams, of 1ew <ork son, Rob ert +. 6ylar Jr. and his spouse, Amie 6ylar, of Chattanoog­a grandson, Patrick Robert 6y lar, of Chattanoog­a sisters, Betty 6tocker and Ethelwyn Arnold nephews, Mike 6tock er, 7im and Peter Arnold, nieces, 6usan 6tocker, Wendy Arnold, all of Chattanoog­a and 10 stepgrandc­hildren.

7here will be celebratio­n of his life at a later date.
