ROSSVILLE — Robert Steven McAllister, 70, of Rossville passed away Monday, Dec. 4, 2017 surrounded by his family.

Mr. McAllister was a retired police officer and he served in the United States Marine Corps 1st Marine Corp Division 3rd Recon from Dec. 7, 1964 to Dec. 6, 1968 receiving the Purple Heart with Device. He was a Station Commander South Station in Metrovica, Kosovo from 2002-2004 UNMIK. He was of the Baptist Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon McAllister and Betty Lou McAllister; and grandmothe­r, Gertrude Jamison.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Darlene McAllister; sons, Daniel (Tiffany) McAllister and Jason (Michelle) McAllister; grandson, Nash McAllister (Light of his pop-pop’s life); brothers, Mark (Inez) McAllister and David McAllister; Nanny, Nina McAllister; and many special family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel.

Interment will follow in the Chattanoog­a National Cemetery with full military honors.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
