David Brown
David Ralph Brown, 70, lifelong resident of Chattanooga, passed away Feb. 2, 2018. David lost his battle with cancer surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Esta and Edgar Brown; brothers, Roy Brown and Arnold Brown; and sister, Lousie Fekete.
Survivors include his wife, Sally of 32 years; son, David E. Brown; daughters, Melissa, Mandy, and Grace, all of Chattanooga. Survivors also include his brothers, Robert Earl (Betty Ann), and Billy (Sharon); sister in-laws, Ann and Loretta Brown; grandchildren, Dakota and Madison Brown, Austin and Cole Angland, Alex Brown Gunn, and Isabell Cook. He is also survived by numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. David is also survived by his longtime employee and friend, Brandon Hill (Crystal).
David touched the lives of many throughout the Chattanooga and surrounding area through his carpentry work. After working for a number of years as the Director of Maintenance at the Chattanooga Choo Choo, David left the Choo Choo to pursue a dream of owning his own construction company. He worked as the owner of D. R. Brown Construction for over 30 years. David was a devoted husband, loving father, and friend to many people in the community. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
A Memorial service will be held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church on Social Circle Feb. 10 with visitation at 11 a.m., immediately followed by a Memorial Service at 12 p.m.
