David Ralph Brown, 70, lifelong resident of Chattanoog­a, passed away Feb. 2, 2018. David lost his battle with cancer surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Esta and Edgar Brown; brothers, Roy Brown and Arnold Brown; and sister, Lousie Fekete.

Survivors include his wife, Sally of 32 years; son, David E. Brown; daughters, Melissa, Mandy, and Grace, all of Chattanoog­a. Survivors also include his brothers, Robert Earl (Betty Ann), and Billy (Sharon); sister in-laws, Ann and Loretta Brown; grandchild­ren, Dakota and Madison Brown, Austin and Cole Angland, Alex Brown Gunn, and Isabell Cook. He is also survived by numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. David is also survived by his longtime employee and friend, Brandon Hill (Crystal).

David touched the lives of many throughout the Chattanoog­a and surroundin­g area through his carpentry work. After working for a number of years as the Director of Maintenanc­e at the Chattanoog­a Choo Choo, David left the Choo Choo to pursue a dream of owning his own constructi­on company. He worked as the owner of D. R. Brown Constructi­on for over 30 years. David was a devoted husband, loving father, and friend to many people in the community. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

A Memorial service will be held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church on Social Circle Feb. 10 with visitation at 11 a.m., immediatel­y followed by a Memorial Service at 12 p.m.
