› Taking Faith Outdoors: Bass fishing legend Jimmy Houston will be the special guest for a Field, Woods and Water outreach 5-9 p.m. April 6 at First Baptist Church of Cleveland, 1275 Stuart Road NE. The event includes a Cajun meal, 50 talk-and-teach tables related to the outdoors, photo-ops with a world-record buck and thousands of dollars of giveaways, including rifles and fishing rods. › Plant giveaway: Daisy United Methodist Church, 9508 Old Dayton Pike in Soddy-Daisy, plans its seventh annual Plant Giveaway, a community outreach project, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 7. The variety includes flowers, herbs, ornamental­s, a few vegetables and some flower seeds. The first three plants are free, and five additional plants may be selected for $2 per plant.
