Fannie Smith Tallent, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, in Chattanoog­a surrounded by her family. She was 90-years-old.

Mrs. Tallent was born Aug. 18, 1927, to her parents, Claude and Laura Smith. She married Charles “Bill” Tallent in 1948. She was the matriarch of her family and for many years her kitchen table served as the gathering place for family dinners filled with laughter and love. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and will be remembered as a kind and gentle mother, grandmothe­r and great-grandmothe­r.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Charles A. “Bill” Tallent; two daughters, Beverly Tallent Sutton, Ringgold, Delilah (Steve) Richardson, Harrison; son, Gary (Wanda) Tallent, Trenton; brother, John Smith, Chattanoog­a; sister, Robbie Jennings, Hixson; six grandchild­ren, Derrick Tallent, Shanna Johnson, Cory Richardson, Patrick Sutton, Stacy Richardson and Katelyn Sutton; three great-grandchild­ren, Gracen Bush, Bryleigh Sutton and Bailyn Sutton; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jon Weaver officiatin­g. Interment will be in Woodland Heights Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton Funeral Home.
