Belinda Joyce Williams passed away March 25, 2018. She was born July 3, 1951, in Chattanoog­a, Tenn.

Belinda graduated from Howard High School in 1971. She worked in food service for many years and was employed by the S & W Café and the Chattanoog­a Public School System Food Service department.

She was a lively and friendly spirit and met no strangers; ALL children were “HER” children. With no grandchild­ren of her own, she was a nannie and a granny to all.

Belinda was preceded in death by her father, Jerry F. Hicks Jr.; brother, Jonathan Hicks; and husband, Darrell L. Williams Sr.; two grandmothe­rs, Geneva Mullins and Lavonia Suttles.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother Mildred Hicks; son, Darrell L. Williams Jr.; brothers, Michael (Brenda) Hicks Sr., Randall Hicks and sister, Dorothy Wills; sister-in-law, Cassandra Hicks; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; extended family, Alfred Griffin Sr., whom she called “Daddy”; sister, Gail Griffin; a host of other close friends, relatives and “Her” children.

The body will lie-in-state after noon Thursday, March 29, 2018, at the funeral home, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening.

A funeral service will be held at noon Friday, March 30, at Thankful Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Oscar Lockhart officiatin­g. Interment: Greenwood Cemetery.
