Belinda Williams
Belinda Joyce Williams passed away March 25, 2018. She was born July 3, 1951, in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Belinda graduated from Howard High School in 1971. She worked in food service for many years and was employed by the S & W Café and the Chattanooga Public School System Food Service department.
She was a lively and friendly spirit and met no strangers; ALL children were “HER” children. With no grandchildren of her own, she was a nannie and a granny to all.
Belinda was preceded in death by her father, Jerry F. Hicks Jr.; brother, Jonathan Hicks; and husband, Darrell L. Williams Sr.; two grandmothers, Geneva Mullins and Lavonia Suttles.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother Mildred Hicks; son, Darrell L. Williams Jr.; brothers, Michael (Brenda) Hicks Sr., Randall Hicks and sister, Dorothy Wills; sister-in-law, Cassandra Hicks; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; extended family, Alfred Griffin Sr., whom she called “Daddy”; sister, Gail Griffin; a host of other close friends, relatives and “Her” children.
The body will lie-in-state after noon Thursday, March 29, 2018, at the funeral home, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening.
A funeral service will be held at noon Friday, March 30, at Thankful Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Oscar Lockhart officiating. Interment: Greenwood Cemetery.
