Easter Gospel Sing at The Colonnade
Two nights of Southern gospel singing by five well-known regional groups celebrate Easter when the Easter Weekend Quartet Sing is held at The Colonnade in Ringgold, Ga., on Friday and Saturday, March 30-31.
Music begins at 7 p.m. on Good Friday with performances by The Anchormen, Master Peace Quartet and Appointed Quartet. Music resumes Saturday night with another performance by Appointed Quartet along with music from Gold City and One Touch Quartet. ›
Anchormen is comprised of Derrick Boyd from Greenville, N.C., who has traveled with Heaven Bound, The Carolina Boys, the Blackwoods and Woodsmen Quartet; Ronnie Bright of Spartanburg, S.C., who spent several years with Heaven Bound; and Scott Mullins of Charleston, W.Va., who has previously sung with Praisemen, Gospel Harmony Boys and Tim Greene Trio. ›
Appointed is a Southern gospel quartet based in Tunnel Hill, Ga. Its members are Stephen Roberts, Earl Roberts, David Hill and Chris Wells. ›
Master Peace Quartet from Dalton, Ga., is made up of Bill Worley, Brian Etheridge, Bobby Christopher and Anthony Patton. ›
Nationally known quartet Gold City from Gadsden, Ala., is in its 37th year of performing. Over three decades, the quartet has won multiple Dove Awards and Singing News fan awards.
Singing in Gold City is Chris West, Daniel Riley, Scott Brand and Thomas Nalley, with Bryan Elliott at the piano. ›
One Touch Quartet includes Coleman Balliew, Miller Evans, Kenny Herron and Roy Woods.
Centered in Cartersville, Ga., One Touch has been ministering in song since 1996. This group leans toward the old-style quartet sound made famous by the Statesmen, Blackwoods and Kingsmen.
