Christman golden for U.S. Jr. team

-

Soddy-Daisy High School graduate Eli Christman is becoming quite familiar with veteran United States shotgun standouts Vincent Hancock and Frank Thompson. Christman, now a Martin Methodist freshman, was on the U.S. men’s team with Hancock, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, and three-time Olympian Thompson in the 2018 Guadalajara World Cup. Christman got food poisoning there but still finished sixth the next week — with Hancock first and Thompson third — in the Men’s Open skeet finals while taking the Junior gold medal at USA Shooting’s spring selections in Tucson, Ariz. Then Christman finished sealing one of the three spots on the U.S. Junior World team going to Changwon, South Korea.
