Grey Littleton Wagner, 100, a resident of Signal Mountain, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018.

Grey was the daughter of the late Marguerite Wagner Littleton and the late Augustine Brabson Littleton.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Joseph Church Wagner; and her brother, Augustine Brabson Littleton (Lt. Col. USA). Survivors include her children, Robert Wagner, Marguerite Cissy (Bob) Coleman, Alice (Sib) Evans, Richard (Sunny) Wagner, Jon Wagner, Mary-Jo (Rob) Richie, Kathleen (Fred) Robinson, Michael (Joan) Wagner, and Patricia (Wayne) Stewart. She has 16 grandchild­ren and 10 great-grandchild­ren.

Grey was educated at The Academy of Holy Names in Florida. She received her bachelors degree from University of Chattanoog­a and her masters from Columbia University.

A rich life of work and service started with being on the faculty at Randolph Macon, volunteeri­ng with HAMILTON County Juvenile Court Home for Girls, programs for the YWCA, founding member of two parish boards of education, National Director of Council of Catholic Women, Nashville and Knoxville Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, Junior League of Chattanoog­a, Nancy Ward Chapter in Chattanoog­a, Girl Scout Leader, president of Chi Omega Fraternity (Delta Alpha Chapter).

Grey was awarded “Who’s Who” in American Universiti­es and Colleges, Golden Eaglet in scouting, Papal Award “Pro Ecclesia Pontific” medal by Pope Paul VI, service award from the Tennessee Associatio­n of Churches and Chattanoog­a Associatio­n of Churches, American Red Cross award in World War II, Chi Omega award from Supreme Governing Council, founding member of the first Notre Dame High School Associatio­n, and president of St. Augustine Council of Catholic Women. She was a member of St. Augustine for 73 years.

The family would like to thank “Home Helpers” for their profession­al care.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 4, at St. Augustine Church on Signal Mountain. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. followed by a celebratio­n of life mass.
