Juliette Owens Thompson Agee, 96, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2018, at home surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. Lloyd W. Thompson; second husband, Claude Agee; parents, Julius and Pauline Owens; and brother, Frank Albert Owens.

Juliette received her early education in Chattanoog­a, Atlanta and Smithville, TX. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Huston-Tillotson College and taught elementary education with the Chattanoog­a Public Schools and the Kansas City Public Schools with a total of 42 years of service.

She was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., The Chattanoog­a Chapter of The Links and the local, state, and national Retired Teachers Associatio­n.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Diane Thompson McCants, Paulette Thompson; two grandchild­ren; two great-grandchild­ren; adopted niece, Tan Harden; devoted caregivers, Alma Jones and Emma Paris; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Friday, May 11, 2018, in the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributi­ons be made in Juliette’s name to the Humane Educationa­l Society, Inc., 214 N. Highland Park Avenue, Chattanoog­a, TN 37404 or to Orange Grove Center, 615 Derby St., Chattanoog­a, TN 37404
