MOBILE, ALA. — Larry Michael Jenkins, 73, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018. He was born in Mobile and lived the last 45 years in Bradley and Polk County. He graduated from Tennessee Tech University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineerin­g and from the University of Tennessee at Chattanoog­a with an MBA. He was licensed engineer in the state of Tennessee. Larry was retired from Olin Corporatio­n as the Charleston Plant Manager after 33 years in various engineerin­g positions. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he received an Honorable Discharge as a Specialist E5. He enjoyed golf, team sports, youth sports and was an avid reader. He was a loving husband and father and was a member of First Baptist Church of Benton and a Gideon.

He was preceded in death by his father Baxter B. Jenkins and Betty Grier Jenkins, both of Vernon.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 46 years, Judith Wright Jenkins; children, Jeremy Michael Jenkins (Katie) and Wesley Baxter Jenkins, all of Chattanoog­a; siblings, Charles Terrence Jenkins of Daphne, Ala., Baxter Jenkins, Jr. (Sandy) of Lebanon, Patrick Kelley Jenkins (Vicki) of Ajijic, Mexico; Penny Jenkins Evans (Bob) of Horn Lake, Miss.; sister-in-law Linda Wright Hardison (Joel) of Hixson and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Benton with Dr. Robbie Speights and the Reverend Charles Cheatham officiatin­g.

Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the church prior to the service.
