› Grand opening: The Community Haven will celebrate its grand opening from noon to 4 p.m. today at 4025 Hughes Ave. next to Westside Baptist Church. The once-abandoned house will now be home to several community-based programs, including counseling, mentoring and tutoring services, programs to feed and clothe the community, disaster preparedness, a high school equivalency center, a community-forum television studio and a community garden and park.
