A second member of Georgia’s top-ranked 2018 signing class will start his college football career at a junior college.

Nadab Joseph, a four-star defensive back out of Miami, will not enroll in Athens this summer but instead at Independence Community College in Kansas. The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder was rated the No. 175 overall prospect in the 2018 class by 247Sports.com; he signed with Georgia in December after having been committed to Alabama.

“We’ll try to get him graduated as fast as possible and get him right back to Georgia,” Independence coach Jason Brown told the Athens Banner-Herald.

Joseph’s departure comes less than two weeks after the announcement that Bulldogs defensive tackle signee Tramel Walthour will be starting his college career at Hutchinson CC, also in Kansas. The 6-4, 277-pounder from Hinesville, Georgia, was a three-star prospect this past winter, according to 247Sports.

Hellams picks Tide

Alabama added to its stellar 2019 class of commitments Monday, receiving a pledge from defensive back DeMarcco Hellams of Hyattsville, Maryland. The 6-1, 203-pounder is rated the No. 4 safety and the No. 92 overall recruit, according to 247Sports.

Hellams is the 15th commitment for the Crimson Tide’s top-rated class and the seventh from a top-100 prospect.
