Juneteenth: Gaining Freedom: Through poetry and song, Shawanna Kendrick presents the true story of Laura Smalley, who was born into slavery in Texas and shared the news of slaves gaining freedom, in a program at 4 p.m. Sunday at Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church, 1734 E.
