Take 2: Jake Owen’s tour returns to AT&T Field tonight

- STAFF REPORT

Jake Owen’s original plan was to launch his summer baseball stadium tour from AT&T Field on May 18 — but Mother Nature didn’t cooperate and weather caused a postponement.

So Owen will try again tonight, June 28. The Life’s Whatcha Make It tour is set to start in AT&T Field, 201 Power Alley, at 6 p.m. and conclude about 11 p.m.

Owen will be joined by Chris Janson and Ashley McBryde, who is replacing Jordan Davis on the bill. That’s good news for McBryde’s fans, known as The Trybe.

Singer-songwriter McBryde broke onto the country music scene last year with “Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega,” named one of the Top 25 Best Country Songs of 2017 by Rolling Stone. She followed up that success with another hit, “American Scandal.” Her current single is “Andy (I Can’t Live Without You).” All three singles are tracks on her new album, “Girl Going Nowhere.”

Janson is known for “Buy Me a Boat,” “Fix a Drink” and “Drunk Girl.” His new single is “Everybody.” But he is equally recognized in the music industry as a prolific songwriter who co-wrote Tim McGraw’s “Truck Yeah,” LoCash’s “I Love This Life” and Randy Houser’s “Song Number 7.”

Owen, known for his love of beach life, golf and water sports, currently has a single at No. 8 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart, “I Was Jack and You Were Diane.”

His five No. 1 smashes are “Barefoot Blue Jean Night,” “Beachin,” “Anywhere with You,” “Alone with You” and “The One That Got Away.”

Dan Kopf, public and media relations manager for the Lookouts, says the concert has not sold out.

Tickets are $34.50 general admission in the bleachers, $39.50 field general admission and $69.50 for center stage on the field.

Concertgoers are reminded they may not bring outside food or beverages into the stadium.
