Open house celebrates Wildwood sculpture installation
Bob Dombrowski will celebrate the installation of his new work, “Of Spiritual Significance,” with an open house and art sale at Wildwood Valley Art Grounds in Wildwood, Georgia, on Saturday evening, June 30.
Wildwood Valley Art Grounds, formerly The Farm Studios, is Dombrowksi’s home and a gathering space for artists and art lovers. Dombrowski, originally from New York, has lived in Wildwood for more than 13 years.
His sculpture, “Of Spiritual Significance,” was made possible through a commission by The Trenton Arts Council with equal support from Katie Bien.
The sculpture is an arrangement of large stones in a space defined by several painted wood stele (posts taller than they are wide) which, by their placement, act almost as guardians.
“This event will be a celebration of that piece as well as an art sale. His collection of artwork will be available for sale in and around his house. He will also be selling some of the artwork from his late partner, Mary Petruska,” says Bien.
“Bob’s artwork includes sculptures, paintings, drawings and digital media. Mary’s artwork features drawings, paintings and silk-screened fabrics,” Bien describes.
One Voice will play for the event. Bien reminds visitors that the event is in and around an old farm house on a working farm, so appropriate dress and footwear are encouraged. Also no dogs will be allowed.
There is no admission charge.
