Lookouts lose 4-1 to Pensacola

The streaky Chattanoog­a Lookouts are headed back in the wrong direction.

The Lookouts lost 4-1 to the Pensacola Blue Wahoos in front of 3,022 Thursday night at AT&T Field, their third straight defeat after a sevengame winning streak.

Chattanoog­a dropped to 13-21 in the Southern League season’s second half and 49-54 overall this year.

Pensacola was outhit 7-6 but never trailed, taking its first lead on Jose Siri’s leadoff home run in the fourth.

Chattanoog­a tied it up when Chris Paul homered to lead off the fifth, but the Blue Wahoos went ahead for good on Aristides Aquino’s single that scored T.J. Friedl Jr. in the seventh. Taylor Feathersto­n had a two-run single in the eighth for the final margin.

Lookouts first baseman Brent Rooker went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.

Chattanoog­a starter Dietrich Enns (0-5) allowed two earned runs on three hits while striking out six and walking none.

The finale of the five-game series at AT&T Field is at 7:15 tonight, and it’s military appreciati­on night, with all active and retired service members receiving free admission for themselves and their families with military identifica­tion.

Lewis Thorpe (5-4, 3.89) is the scheduled starting pitcher for Chattanoog­a, with the Blue Wahoos making a game-day decision.
