› Poet Voices in concert: Poet Voices, the Phil Cross-led gospel quartet that has reunited after a 15-year break, will perform tonight in the Ringgold High School auditorium, 29 Tiger Trail in Ringgold, Georgia. › Hymn sing: A Red Back Hymn Sing, named for the use of red-back hymnals, is scheduled at 6 p.m. today at the Little Brown Church, 3209 Spring Ave., Signal Mountain. The Mountain Cove Band will be featured.
› Nativity Rising Artists: Nativity Episcopal Church, 1201 Cross St., Fort Oglethorpe, continues its summer series of performances by Chattanooga Music Club scholarship winners at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Grand-prize-winning guitarist Preston Anastas will play selections from Bach, Bustamante and Tarrega. A mini-concert will feature organist and music director Kristopher Schwinn. › Zen Group’s new location: The Zen Group of Chattanooga meets 2-4 p.m. Sundays at a new location, 335 Crestway Drive (the Chattanooga Friends Meeting). The group offers zazen (Zen sitting meditation), kinhin (walking meditation) and newcomer instruction. No experience is necessary and no fee is required for attendance, although donations are welcome. The Sunday schedule offers three 25-minute periods of zazen, two five-minute periods of kinhin and book study of “Enlightenment Unfolds: Essential Teachings of Zen Master Dogen.” Individual dokusan (one-on-one instruction) and dharma talks are available online or in person at the Atlanta Soto Zen Center.
