Hood elected chair of Erlanger Foundations
The Erlanger Health System Foundations board has elected Lynda Minks Hood as its new chair for fiscal 2019.
Hood, who is executive director of the Chattanooga Bar Association, said it is “an exciting time to be a part of everything going on at Erlanger,” with Erlanger’s ongoing expansions of its Children’s Hospital and Heart and Lung Institute on its main campus and other partnerships to develop medical facilities and offices in East Brainerd, Dunlap and along Holtzclaw Avenue. Collectively, the projects represent the biggest capital expansion in Erlanger’ 129-year history.
Other board members elected to the Erlanger Foundations board include Deborah Elwell Arfken, interim president and CEO of Siskin Children’s Institute; Dr. Syamal Dave Bhattacharya, a pediatric surgeon with University Surgical Associates; Hiren Desai, CEO, 3H Group; Christy Gillenwater, president and CEO of the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce; Candy C. Johnson of Johnson Consulting; Dr. Alan E. Kohrt, assistant dean of faculty development at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Chattanooga; Lesslie (Less) W. Lee, Jr., president and CEO of Lee-Smith, Inc., and Lesco, Inc.; Dr. Haresh D. Patel, an anesthesiologist with Anesthesiology Consultants Exchange, PC; · Mark A. Ramsey, an attorney with Spears, Moore, Rebman & Williams, and Dr. Charles Woods, chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at the UTC College of Medicine and Chief Medical Officer of Children’s Hospital at Erlanger.
Julie Taylor, president of Erlanger Health System Foundations, said the foundation “is perfectly poised to keep up with the rapid growth of Erlanger.”
