1. “Summertime” The 1991 version by DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh

Prince edged out the 1958 version by Ella Fitzgerald, but both were popular.

2. “The Boys of Summer” by

Don Henley The Eagles vocalist and drummer released the song in 1984; he won the Best Male Rock Vocal Performanc­e Grammy award for it in 1985.

3. “Summer in the City” by the Lovin’ Spoonful The catchy tune hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in August 1966.

4. “Summer of ’69” by Bryan

Adams Released as a single in summer of 1985, it climbed to No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
