Local principal is finalist for award
A Hamilton County principal is among nine finalists for Tennessee’s 2018-19 principal of the year.
Marthel Young, principal of East Brainerd Elementary, is the nominee for the Southeast region in East Tennessee.
The award is given annually to a school leader for outstanding service in education and exceptional leadership that drives overall improvements in his or her school, according to the Tennessee Department of Education.
