Betty Miller Potts, 87, of Hixson, died on Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, from a battle with cancer. Betty was a feisty, spunky little lady who never met a stranger.

She was born June 26, 1931, to the late Alfred and Nessie Miller.

Mrs. Potts was a graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School. She was retired from Dupont.

She was a member of Burks United Methodist Church and the Eldridge Sunday School Class.

Her husband of 60 years, Alvin Potts; her parents; and sister, Bobbie Reed; preceded her in death.

Survivors include her three children, Dennis (Jackie) Potts, Linda (David) Smalley, and Sandra (Jim) Shirk; grandchild­ren, Corey Potts, Brandon Potts, Tyler Smalley, Cameron Smalley, Owen Shirk, Anna Shirk; 10 great-grandchild­ren,; sister, Bonnie Gravitte, and brother, Bernard Miller. Also, Jack Frost, who was her best friend and companion for the last several years.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home with Pastor, Al Goss and Dr. Tony Collins officiatin­g. Interment will follow at Chattanoog­a National Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to the American Cancer Society.
