Lee soccer teams tie, lose 1-0

The Lee University soccer teams both opened their seasons Thursday in Florida, the Lady Flames tying Rollins 2-2 in Winter Park in the early afternoon and the Flames losing 1-0 at Florida Tech at night. Rollins scored 76 seconds into the women’s game and 6:19 into the second half, but the ninth-ranked Lady Flames got tying unassisted goals by Lauren Peters at 40:42 and Devin Healy at 56:36. Lee outshot Rollins 17-10 with a 10-5 margin in shots on goal. In the men’s game at Melbourne, Lee was outshot 11-5 but had a 3-2 edge in on-goal attempts. Two of those were by Samaan Williams. Florida Tech’s Luca Campanini netted the lone goal at 59:26.

› The Tennessee Wesleyan men’s soccer team is 4-0 after rallying for a 2-1 win Tuesday night at Martin Methodist in Pulaski, Tennessee. Drew Bradford’s ninth-minute goal put the hosts ahead, but Nick Davis equalized at 48:21 from a Sebastian Molina assist, and Harry Baggaley put the Bulldogs ahead at 85:11 with his fifth goal of the season. The teams were credited with 14 shots apiece, TWU holding an 8-6 edge in shots on goal.

VOLLEYBALL

› The first-year Chattanoog­a State volleyball team won for the second time in three nights Thursday, 3-0 over Georgia Northweste­rn, and is unbeaten at home. Dakota Rawiszer had 24 assists and Emily Redden added 17 for the Lady Tigers (2-4), and Sidney Killingswo­rth and Sakari Pack contribute­d nine and eight kills. Scarlett Hamrick served six aces, and Ricki Lynn Bickley led in digs with seven.
