BEST OF THE REST

This weekend’s other top conference games (all times EDT)

-

NO. 2 GEORGIA (3-0) AT MISSOURI (3-0) When: Noon

Where: Columbia, Mo.

TV: ESPN

Notes: Georgia appears to be so far ahead of any other team in the East that a date in the SEC Championship on Dec. 1 is nearly a lock. But Missouri’s high-powered passing game gave the Bulldogs some fits last year, and it will have to do it again, and maybe catch some breaks, to upset Georgia this season. NO. 14 MISSISSIPPI STATE (3-0) AT KENTUCKY (3-0) When: 7 p.m.

Where: Lexington, Ky.

TV: ESPN2

Notes: Upset alert? If there were ever a time to be concerned as a highly ranked team going into Kentucky the time would be now. The Wildcats have talent and momentum after snapping a 31-game losing streak at Florida two weeks ago. The Bulldogs’ offense has been sharp this season, but it will likely face its first true test against Kentucky’s defense. FLORIDA (2-1) AT TENNESSEE (2-1) When: 7 p.m.

Where: Knoxville, Tenn.

TV: ESPN

Notes: This one doesn’t have the potency and vigor it once had, but the intrigue is still there. Two coaches, Dan Mullen at Florida and Jeremy Pruitt at Tennessee, are trying to get once-proud programs back to relevance around the SEC, and a victory in this matchup could mean a lot as they try to prove themselves pertinent.
