RINGGOLD — Ruby Lee Adams Swearingen, 83, of Ringgold, GA. passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2018.

A resident of the Ringgold area for the past 64 years, she was a native of Augusta, Georgia. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ringgold where she was a member of the Love Sunday School Class.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas LeRoy Swearingen; daughter, Ruby Marie Swearingen Drenthe; parents, George and Annie Lou Heath Adams; three brothers, George Adams Jr., William E. Adams and Gene Adams; and two sisters, Annie Lou Adams Anderson and Mary Adams Kuhlke.

She is survived by her son Francis Benjamin (Joan) Swearingen of Old Hickory, TN.; daughter, Martha Lynn Davis of LaFayette, GA.; sister, Julia Adams Draper of Staton Island, NY.; son-inlaw, Lowell Drenthe of Mt. Juliet, TN.; three grandchild­ren, Charles (Melanie) Zimmer, Miles Laney and Kaley June Swearingen; four great-grandchild­ren, Mason Zimmer, Jack Zimmer, Leah Laney Thomas James Stubblefie­ld: several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Chattanoog­a National Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at the funeral home.
