Wine Over Water flows over four days

Popular wine-tasting fundraiser expands to seven events

Although Wine Over Water isn’t until Saturday, Oct. 6, events leading up to the popular wine-tasting fundraiser are already nearing sellouts.

Wine Over Water is a highly anticipate­d benefit held on the Walnut Street Bridge each fall to support the historic preservati­on projects of Cornerston­es Inc. WOW has added more off-bridge events this year to turn the fundraiser into a dayslong wine festival and accommodat­e the wishes of Chattanoog­ans asking for more food and wine events.

Thursday, Oct. 4:

Cheers! Kickoff Party at Easy Bistro & Bar, 203 Broad St., 7 p.m., $165.

Atlantic Capital is sponsoring this inaugural event to kick off Wine Over Water weekend. Chef Erik Niel of Easy Bistro & Bar, a James Beard semifinali­st, and Edmund Amoye of Moet Hennessey will provide food paired with exclusive wines and champagnes. Music by DJ Million Dolla Man.

Friday, Oct. 5: MLK

Beer & Bites Party along M.L. King Boulevard, 7 p.m., $35.

Join organizers for the first beer party on MLK in the 2 Sons Kitchen parking lot, 422 E. M.L. King Blvd. A fun evening featuring beer from Hutton & Smith and OddStory Brewing Co., whiskey tastings from Chattanoog­a Whiskey, food from Bitter Alibi and 2 Sons, and music from local band Rye Baby is planned.

Saturday, Oct. 6:

Lunch Botanical at Solarium Cafe, 120 E. 10th St., $75. First seating at 11 a.m., second seating at 1 p.m.

Before heading to the bridge, find your place in the sun at this cocktail lunch at Solarium Café located inside the Dwell Hotel. The menu and cocktails will feature herbs, flowers, fruits and rosés.

Saturday, Oct. 6:

Wine Over Water, Walnut Street Bridge, 5-8 p.m., $80.

For the first time, all food will be included in the ticket price. There will be nearly 20 restaurant­s represente­d on the bridge along with more than 200 wines from nearly 100 wineries.

Bands on the bridge entertaini­ng guests will be Call Me Spinster, Courtney Reid, Lumbar Five, Barefoot Nellie and Rick Rushing and the Blues Strangers

Saturday, Oct. 6:

Wine Dinner at St. John’s Restaurant, 1278 Market St., 6 p.m., $190.

Enjoy an exquisite fivecourse dinner prepared and paired with Orwin Swift Wines by Executive Chef Rebecca Barron and sommelier Michelle Richards.

Sunday, Oct: 7: Yoga Brunch at Feed Table & Tavern, 201 W. Main St.. 10 a.m.-1 p.m., $65.

Yoga teachers Sara Mingus of Southern Soul Yoga and Kyle House of Kyle House Fitness will lead the yoga class.

RevIVe, Chattanoog­a’s IV hydration therapy studio, is the presenting sponsor and will offer the first 10 ticket purchasers a compliment­ary IV treatment that morning in the company’s mobile hydration unit prior to the yoga class. Lululemon will present four ticket purchasers with a free outfit.

Chef Charlie Loomis of Feed and Chef Trent Brockie of Local Juicery and Muse+Metta will prepare a brunch paired with champagne and sparkling wines from Moet Hennessy. Edmund Amoye from Moet Hennessy USA will lead guests through a blind tasting designed to help them find their favorite.

Sunday, Oct. 7: Sunday Supper at The Daily Ration, 1220 Dartmouth St., 4-7 p.m., $85.

Upon arrival, guests will be greeted with a craft cocktail from Chattanoog­a Whiskey as they listen to the Randy Steele Trio. A family-style dinner prepared by Chef Jason Bowers will be served paired with wines from Willamette Valley Winery.
