This small-batch artisan distillery delights in aging the finest wood-barrel spirits, including whiskey, moonshine and (gasp) even vodka. Tours are conducted at the top of the hour every day until 5 p.m., while the cocktail bar is open for tastings and signature cocktails until 6 (all times Central).

If your palate prefers a critically acclaimed bottle of wine, jaunt over to Beachaven Vineyard. A Clarksville fixture for the last 30 years, it’s said to be the oldest single-family-owned winery in the state. The vineyard is open daily, offering wine tastings and tours along with occasional music events. You must be at least 21 years old to sample the award-winning wines, so don’t forget those IDs. ››
The winery has several special events coming up. The perennially popular Jazz on the Lawn series runs on select Saturdays through Oct 27, when a Halloween costume contest will join the traditional lineup. The winery’s Annual Holiday Open House on Dec. 9 will put the focus on holiday music and, of course, wine, with scrumptious Beachaven recipes to boot.

One of Clarksville’s few microbreweries, Blackhorse has been operating since 1992, offering a wide variety of homemade ales, stouts and IPAs. Started by a Desert Storm veteran, the brewery has three locations, the original being in downtown Clarksville, and offers food and a taproom for the truly inspired beer drinker.
