BEST OF THE REST

This weekend’s other top conference games (all times EDT)

-

AUBURN (4-3,1-3) AT OLE MISS (5-2, 1-2) When: Noon Saturday Where: Oxford, Miss.

TV: SEC

Notes: Where, oh where has that Auburn team gone? You know, the one that opened the season with a win over Washington? After losses to Mississippi State and Tennessee in back-to-back weeks, the Tigers are reeling with a trip to Ole Miss up next. The Rebs sure aren’t feeling sorry for their Western rival.

NO. 1 ALABAMA (7-0, 4-0) AT TENNESSEE (3-3, 1-2) When: 3:30 p.m. Saturday Where: Knoxville, Tenn.

TV: CBS

Notes: In a rivalry game, so you never know what’s going to happen when….OK, let’s stop right there. Yes, it’s a big rivalry, and yes Alabama will most likely go in and treat the Vols like it has every other team this season. But hey, Tennessee’s win over Auburn last week at least gets you paying a little closer attention to this matchup. Doesn’t it?

VANDERBILT (3-4, 0-3) AT KENTUCKY (5-1, 3-1) When: 7:30 p.m. Saturday Where: Lexington, Ky.

TV: SEC

Notes: With Georgia’s loss to LSU last Saturday, Kentucky can actually picture itself playing the Bulldogs in two weeks for a chance to win the SEC East. But whoa there, Wildcats, don’t look too far ahead. The Commodores nearly beat Florida last week and they must make the trip to Missouri next week.
