Party in the Passageway

- STAFF REPORT

Alley party anyone? The opening of the redesigned East Seventh Street alley space in downtown Chattanooga will be celebrated with a free block party on Saturday, Nov. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Music, food and dance performances will be part of the family-friendly entertainment for the opening of the alley, called City Thread, at 10 E. Seventh St.

Music will start at 4 p.m. with Spinster, Courtney Reid and Warsaw playing. There will be a dance performance by Pop-Up Project along with food trucks, a cash bar and other vendors for guests to enjoy.

Visitors will hear from the Passageways 2.0 design team of Molly Hunker and Greg Corso from Syracuse, New York. The City Thread installation consists of a continuous linear tube with projected “conditions.” By virtue of its designs, City Thread could potentially be used for seating, mini-stages, framing for art, large gatherings, farmers markets, movie screenings and more.

The block party is free, but tickets are required. Anyone planning to attend may get them at www.eventbrite.com/e/ passageways-20-grandopening-block-party-tickets-51711727168.
