Tom Caraway
Thomas “Tom” Albert Caraway, 75, of Hixson, passed away Nov. 7, 2018, at Alexian Village in the Valley. He was of the Protestant faith.
Tom retired form TVA as an Auxiliary Operator.
Mr. Caraway was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War. During his time of service, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 1960, Drivers Badge with Bar, the Expert Meritorious Unit Citation and the Purple Heart. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion Post 100.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Anna Lee Caraway; daughter, Pamela Caraway and a sister, Brenda Caraway Reavley.
Tom is survived by his sisters, Sherry (Tommie) Goins, of Hixson, Tenn., Charlene (Johnny) King, of Dayton, Tenn.; brothers, Bill (Beverly) Caraway, of Greensburg, Pa., Jim (Vicky) Caraway, of Chatsworth, Ga., Kenneth Caraway, of Sale Creek, Tenn.; and 10 nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express a thank you to all the nurses, CNA’s, and staff at Alexian Village in the Valley for their special care.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2018., in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
