Chonda Pierce brings laughs to Abba’s House

Two nationally known comedians are passing through town this weekend; one who voiced some of your favorite Saturday morning cartoons, the other known as “The Queen of Clean,” sharing the humor in her Southern upbringing.

Chonda Pierce: Still Laughing tour stops at Abba’s House, 5208 Hixson Pike, on Friday, Nov. 16, for a 7 p.m. show.

Tickets are $27 general admission, $49.50 VIP, which includes a meet-andgreet, with group discounts available. Opening for her will be Karyn Williams.

Pierce got her start onstage at Opryland in the theme park’s “Country Music USA” variety show playing Minnie Pearl. She has had a documentar­y made of her life, wrote the book “Laughing In The Dark: A Comedian’s Journey Through Depression” and has had five DVDs certified gold and three certified platinum by RIAA.

AT THE COMEDY CATCH

Greg Morton returns to The Comedy Catch, 1400 Market St., today through Sunday, Nov. 15-18.

He started his career as an animator for the “Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show” and later did voiceovers for “Scooby-Doo,” “The Flintstone­s,” “Super Mario Brothers” and “Hello Kitty,” to name a few.

He has shared stages with Dave Chappell, Chris Rock, Howie Mandel and the Muppets.

Tickets are $12 for 7:30 p.m. shows tonight and Sunday. Tickets are $18 for 7:30 or 9:45 p.m. shows either Friday or Saturday.
