Dive into the science of what’s happening during a coffee brew, and learn how to use that knowledge to manipulate the flavor of your coffee. A mix of theory and practical demonstrations.
FEB. 16: COFFEE ORIGINS AND VARIETALS
Learn about the history and diversity of coffee, gain understanding into how coffee spread across the world and how it has affected politics in those regions.
MARCH 23: COFFEE TASTING AND EVALUATION
Learn how to evaluate a coffee’s flavor by tasting a wide selection of coffees in an evaluative format. Tasting coffees side by side makes it easy to see the diversity of flavors that exist between different origins and roasts.
APRIL 6: TEA BREWING AND TASTING
Taste an assortment of teas that will show off the diversity that quality tea has to offer. Participants will learn how temperature, brew volume and steep time can be used to get the best out of their tea.
APRIL 20: COFFEE AT HOME
Learn how to take your home coffee brewing to cafe level and beyond. This class will explore different brew methods, home coffee equipment and processes to make phenomenal home coffee.
MAY 18: LATTE ART
Learn how to make latte art.
