› Tea, flea market: Good Neighbors, founded in 1952 to help people in need of emergency services who don’t meet the standard requirements for public assistance, will kick off its annual fundraising campaign with the inaugural Red and White Tea 3-5 p.m. today at Whiteside Faith Manor, 735 E. 10th St. The all-day flea market is Feb. 16 at Isbell Barbecue, 4801 Brainerd Road. Donations of cash, canned goods and nonperishable items may be dropped off at the flea market or at Good Neighbors, 737 E. 10th St. The goal is to raise $25,000 to continue services and 5,000 pounds of food to donate to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. Contact: Wiley Morton, 423653-4611.

› Fruit drive: Echelon, a chapter of early to midcareer professionals supporting The Salvation Army, has launched a Google appointment calendar to allow people to sign up to supply fresh fruit to the homeless. Fruit, with its shorter shelf life, is rarely donated in food drives. The challenge has been how to organize contributions so that the day shelter has a steady supply of fresh fruit in the right quantity. The online calendar allows people to sign up for a day and time for delivery. If using a grocery store’s delivery service, specify 800 McCallie Ave. To participate, visit https://chattechelon. youcanbook.me.

› Cold-weather shelter: The Salvation Army is seeking assistance with overnight shelters for the homeless when temperatures dip below freezing. Operating cost is about $300 per night, which is not included in the agency’s budget. Donations of coats, blankets and money are accepted at 822 McCallie Ave. Monetary donations also may be made online at www.csarmy.org or by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY. Volunteers who can help staff the shelter should email Lauren.Russek@uss.salvationarmy.org or call 423-505-9747.
