Jewell Horne Woodward, 90, went home to be with Jesus and family on Feb. 20, 2019.

Jewell was a member of Dividing Ridge Church for many years. She was celebrated and took pride in being the oldest living congregati­on member of her church she loved so dearly.

Jewell served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After her service to our country, she went to work at DuPont and retired after several years. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her late husband and friends, painting beautiful ceramics, and participat­ing in church events.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland “Cotton” Woodward; mother, Ida Mae Gann Horne; father, John Wesley Horne; brothers and sisters, Glenn, Vretta, Alvin, Harold, Madge, Quinton, Glothia, Roxie, Estelle, and Floyce.

She is survived by her sister-in-law and caregiver, Lometta “Doe” Horne; stepsons, Mike Woodward and Roger (Joyce) Woodward along with several grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews; and long-time friend and caregiver, Bernie.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the funeral directly following at 1 p.m. at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home, with Bishop Jackie Penney officiatin­g. Burial will be private.
