Pack a picnic and bring the family to Greenway Farm Park, 5151 Gann Store Road, for Family Fun Day, an afternoon of activities on Sunday, Aug. 18.

Outdoor Chattanoog­a will provide equipment for families to try archery or take a self-guided hike between the hours of 4 and 7 p.m. Appropriat­e for ages 5 and up.

Check in with staff at the archery table next to the dog park to register for activities. Admission and all activities except canoeing are free.

Archery: All ages can test their aim at bull’s-eye targets placed before an arrow-resistant net. This range will be located next to the dog park. Outdoor Chattanoog­a staff will provide instructio­n, guidance and equipment for this activity.

Canoeing: Outdoor Chattanoog­a will provide all the equipment (tandem canoes, PFD, paddle) to paddle the creek at your own pace. Canoes are available from 4 to 6 p.m at the boat ramp behind the gardens. There will be a fee of $25 per canoe (cash or check only). Canoes will be rented on a first-come, first-served basis.

Nature Hike: Seek adventure in a classic nature hike at the park. Take a leisurely stroll or head into the hills with suggested routes and a self-guiding map. Ask for a scavenger hunt list for some extra fun.

A liability release form will be required for canoeing and archery. Severe weather may cancel or delay this program. No reservatio­n is required to attend.
