RINGGOLD — Ronald “Ronnie” Carl Phillips, 68, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019.

A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, he was a former employee of Shaw Industries, a member of the Boiler Makers Union and was of the Baptist faith. Ronnie was an avid fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs, and the Atlanta Braves. He loved to drive, go fishing, watch his grandchild­ren play ball and was a softball coach in Rec ball.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Annie Laura Moore Phillips; sister, Robin Sponberger; brother, Mike Phillips; sister-in-law, Linda Henley Phillips; grandparen­ts and numerous extended family, as well.

He is survived by his father, Roy Phillips; two daughters, Mesia (Eric) Stone and Angel Jewell; sister, Donna (Mickey) Lawrence; brother, Scott (Carmen) Phillips; five grandchild­ren, four great grandchild­ren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, November 16, 2019 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. William Swanson officiatin­g. Interment will follow at Dailey Hills Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday and 2:00- 3:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. The family would like to say a special thank you to Hospice of Chattanoog­a and Close Neighbors and friends Barbara and Lonnie Nunley for all they’ve done for Ronnie and the family during this time.
