Betty Rooks Henegar, 86, of Ooltewah, passed away Monday, May 11, 2020. She was born in Chattanoog­a on March 29, 1934 and lived in Ooltewah for the past 50 years until her death. She was a Christian and has been a member of the Ooltewah United Methodist Church since 1965.

Betty was married to her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Henegar on November 28, 1952 and they remained inseparabl­e for almost 52 years until his death in 2004. Betty found a “Certain” love with Bob, a grateful love, a deep but quite love, one that she knew above all else, was irreplacea­ble. Once Bob had gone, she let the days go stale. She put her heart to sleep. She is now again with him.

Betty was also preceded in death by her loving parents, Joseph D. and Ollie M. Rooks; her beloved brothers Albert Rooks and James “Jay” Rooks.

She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Rooks Herod; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews and special friends, Denny and Willie Moore and many more dear friends.

In lieu of flowers Betty requested memorial contributi­ons be made to the Ooltewah United Methodist Church.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Ooltewah Cemetery with Rev. Dwight Kilbourne officiatin­g.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

A celebratio­n of life services will be held at a later date.

Arrangemen­ts are by the Valley View Chapel of Chattanoog­a Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
