James Dunn

James R. Dunn, (Jim), 74, passed away at his home in Ooltewah surrounded by his family on July 10, 2020. He was born on January 22, 1946, in Chattanooga, TN to the late Mary Dunn. He attended Hardy Jr. High, graduated in 1964 from Chattanooga City High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He served 6 years in the Army National Guard. He retired from 45 years of working at Combustion/Alstom.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Jayne Dunn; son, Ronnie (Jenny) Dunn; daughter, Jill (Greg) Baughn; stepson, Rob Clark; grandsons, Trey Dunn, Cooper Baughn and Carter Baughn.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Delores (Mickey) Coffee.

Jim was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church and the Wilson/Goodman Sunday School class which has been a great source of strength and love to both Jim and Jayne.

Jim had many friends that he considered family. He enjoyed playing golf with his buddies, traveling, and spending time with his family.

Visitation will be held at Chattanooga Funeral Home Valley View Chapel on Sunday, July 12, from 4:00 pm 7:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be at Silverdale Baptist on Monday, July 13, at 1:00 pm.

Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson.
