Mescon, Hale join TVFCU

The Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union has hired Jed Mescon as community engagement liaison and Nancy Hale as a business lender.

Mescon joins TVFCU after a 28-year career in the news media and most recently after serving as the vice president of marketing and public relations at Erlanger Health System. In his role, Mescon is responsibl­e for community engagement initiative­s throughout TVFCU’s 13 county service area.

“Jed is very creative and has a wealth of ideas, drawing upon his decades of community service,” said John Merritt, vice president of marketing at TVFCU.

Mescon graduated from Arizona State University and has a master of education from Travecca Nazarene University. He serves on the board of the Humane Educationa­l Society of Chattanoog­a and The Walter E. Boehm Birth Defects Center.

Hale joins TVFCU after working in the banking industry for more than 30 years. She brings both consumer and commercial lending experience to the not-for-profit credit union. In her role in TVFCU’s Business and Commercial Services Division, Hale will help business members secure funding.

“Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, our business members need strong financial support,” said Tommy Nix, vice president of business and commercial services. “Nancy transition­ed seamlessly to the credit union industry and has been able to provide immediate benefit to our business members.”

Hale attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanoog­a and completed the Southeaste­rn School of Banking at Vanderbilt University. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Dayton and serves on the Board of We Care Community Services, Inc.
